I urge you to take an extra hard look at April 8th as I did this drawing in ‘the heat of the moment’. I was so pissed right then. I never do this, to be honest. Usually when I’m pissed, I just sit around being actively pissed and obnoxious. But Ashwin was asleep and there’s only so much rage you can channel into 140 sign long tweets. I think it turned out nicely. I should really be pissed a bit more often. None of this “perspective” bullocks I’d been going on about before.

So far, 2012 is not bad, my friends. Not bad at all. The constant rain that we saw for Christmas seems to have let up (this is not to say the sun is shining of course), we've already had a bunch of very welcome guests stay with us, have a couple of fun trips lined up for spring (London, Berlin... Hong Kong?), and so far, no one in our little house hold has fallen ill (well except for the fact that my podiatrician told my I have "zze legs Ix", which I found hilarious, but more on that later). Good times, good times.
On top of that, I'm currently experiencing a true revival of the illustrated journalling fever. My new book seems to do its job perfectly and I've been feeling very inspired, resulting in the following journal pages:

See, I even attempted to make, like, an actual comic-comic! :-)
Hope you're all having a wonderful and inspired year so far!
Love, Anna Denise

I wore this outfit both Saturday and Sunday. It's kind of boring, I know. I stayed in bed most of the day on Saturday until it was time to pick up our guests for this weekend. On Sunday I got dressed, but as soon as our guests left, I changed back into my pj's. So perhaps I should have taken a picture of me in my pj's as well? Is that considered cheating?

On Friday I went to work, despite feeling kind of sick. Some combination of the flu, allergies, and exhaustion I'm sure. If my name were Lindsay Lohan, people would probably think I'm doing the drugs. Or perhaps they do think that already. Aaanyways, I wore something nice on Friday because I had to work late at a debate and although I probably should have stayed at home and in bed, I am glad I went.
I took this photo at the office with a self timer. That's my desk. And my chair. Interesting, right?

As expected, I didn't take pictures of my outfit the day of my uncle's cremation service. I was going to put the outfits back on and snap pictures of them here at home, but I'm just too exhausted to get dressed twice. Hell, I'm glad I managed to put on one complete outfit this weekend. So here's what I wore Wednesday and Thursday:
Wednesday

Dress: Benetton
Shirt: We
Jacket: Vanillia
Shoes: Tango
Thursday

Jeggings: Zara
Jacket: Mango
Shirt: We
Boots: Sasha

Am a bit behind with posting my pictures. The trip to my aunt in the south of France went smoothly, but the service itself and seeing my aunt in pain was very hard. There's a knot in my stomach that hasn't left me yet, so I needed some time to get through these past two days.
This is what I wore on Tuesday - the first day of 30 for 30, the 32nd day of my Remixing 2011 project. I will post pictures of what I wore to the cremation and the day after some time tomorrow.

As I said, I've decided to join Kendi's 30 for 30 project this February to motivate me in my 'no shopping, more fun remixing my wardrobe'-thing I've got going since the new year. The 30 for 30 project requires you to pick 30 things from your wardrobe and wear only those things for 30 days. The point is to get more creative in combining pieces (and become supergood at packing, I imagine?).
Anyways, here are my 30 items for February:
9 tops

5 sweaters

3 jackets

4 dresses

4 skirts

2 pairs of pants

3 pairs of shoes

This is my first time doing the 30-for-30, and I'm very curious to see how I'll manage. I tried to make as conservative a selection as possible, since it'll probably be hard enough as it is without me throwing in 'that shirt that can only be matched with that skirt and those shoes'. So, learning from the pro, I took Kendi's list and used it as a guideline. I quickly found out though, that I own more dresses than skirts, for example - so I needed more of those. Also, I don't own a whole lot of shoes I actually wear. So we'll see.
I won't be blogging tomorrow or the day after that because I'll be on the road to and from my uncle's cremation service, but I'll instruct my brothers to take pretty pictures of me.
Wish me luck, everyone!

OH HAI!
You're still here, eh? Awesome. Because I've decided to put several blog posts up today.
I've been kind of preoccupied with work (we've got a big exhibition coming up!), reading an amazing book series (don't you love a good series?), and some family drama. My uncle, despite having been diagnosed with a brain tumor about six months ago, very suddenly died Friday morning. So sad. We're hoping to attend his cremation in Valence, France, next week.
But, that's not what I was going to write to you about. I was going to apologize for the lack of outfit posts, but to assure you that you didn't miss a thing. I haven't shopped, although I came close, but I haven't been having fun remixing either. The weather's been dreadful and I just wanted to wrap myself in tarp and wool most of the time. So I signed up for Kendi's 30 for 30 project for February to motivate myself - and today I already felt more inspired! Also, the sun was shining (but yes, it was freezing too - can't have everything). Ashwin and I went out to get some birthday presents and eat a salad at Ashwin's new favorite salad place (Very Deli) he wanted to introduce me to. It was good.

What I Wore:
Hat: Handmade from a lady in a shop with a name I can't remember downtown.
Cardi: H&M
Dress: ModCloth
Belt: Err... don't remember. I've had it forever.
Tights: H&M
Boots: Sasha shoes
